Privacy Policy - PageLint

Last updated: April 2026

Overview

PageLint is a Chrome extension that analyzes the currently open web page inside Chrome's Side Panel. It helps users review metadata, heading structure, links, images, structured data and search/social previews before publishing or sharing a page.

Data collection

PageLint does not collect, transmit or sell user data.

All analysis is performed locally on the user's device. The extension reads the HTML structure of the page currently being reviewed and generates results directly in the browser.

What data is processed

While PageLint is in use, it may read the following information from the current page:

This data is used only to generate the audit for the current page and is not sent to any external service.

Local storage

PageLint may use chrome.storage.local for lightweight extension state and future preferences. No audit data is transmitted to external servers.

Permissions used

No external communication

Data retention

PageLint does not maintain a remote database of user activity. Any lightweight local state remains on the user's device and can be removed by clearing extension storage or uninstalling the extension.
